Flotation technology mainly utilizes difference of chemical and physical properties of mineral surface to separate mineral particles, which is also called floating separation in the past. It is one of the most commonly used ore beneficiation methods. The main equipment of flotation separation plant is jaw crusher, ball mill, spiral classifier, mixing barrel, flotation machine and a series of auxiliary equipment. Flotation separation line is also called flotation plant, flotation separation process and flortarion separation plant.

Flotation machine as the main equipment of flotation separation process is majorly used to separate copper, zinc, lead, nickel, gold and other non-ferrous metals, which also can be used for coarse and fine separation of ferrous metal and nonmetal.

Technological Process of Flotation Plant

After having primarily crushed to a proper fineness by jaw crusher, the mined ores are evenly sent to ball mill through elevator and feeder for grinding. The fine ores after grinding enters the classifying process. Spiral classifier will clean and classify the ores according to different setting rate of solid particle with different proportion in ore pulp. The cleaned and classified ores enter magnetic separator. Because magnetic susceptibility of various minerals is different, magnetic force and mechanical force will separate magnetic minerals and non-magnetic minerals in mixture, thus forming iron ore concentrate. But the iron ore concentrate contains a large number of moisture, hence, it should be concentrated by concentrator, dehydrated by filter separator and dried by drying machine, thus getting the dry iron ore concentrate.
